UI patterns

Inline editing + autosave

Everything is inline editable. There is no separate "edit mode". When you click into a field and change it, it saves when you leave the field (similar to Google Docs).

List view vs grid view

When capturing many metrics quickly, list view is often the "workhorse" view.

Relationships: some are editable on both sides

Some relationships are editable from either entity:

• add slices to a metric or add metrics to a slice
• add metrics to a report or add reports to a metric

Others are inherently one-directional:

• you can't "add a downstream metric" directly; it becomes downstream by editing the formula of another metric.
